Description

The Belfast class was the British Royal Navy’s first cruiser class since the Tiger class. BAE Systems Maritime – Naval Ships built the first two ships in the class named after the Town-class cruiser H.M.S. Belfast starting on December 10 2010, and at the Belfast keel laying members of Rear-Admiral Sir Morgan Charles Morgan-Giles’s family welding the coins to her keel. C100 H.M.S. Belfast was ready for sea trails on 3 August 2012 and being commissioned into the Royal Navy 2 days later, with her sister ship H.M.S. Sheffield following her a few months later. September 28, 2015 the US was hit by Hurricane Joaquin hard manly the city of New Orleans. The Prime Minister sent a task force to help the city made up of Belfast her sister ships Sheffield, and Glasgow with 2 Daring class destroyers, 2 Duke class frigates, both Albion-class landing platform dock, and the HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier to help the people of New Orleans. The Belfast was placed under the command of Captain William S. Cochrane. William use the Belfast as a refueling stop for British helicopters looking for survivors, and dropping off supplies. When the third World war started Belfast stayed with the Queen Elizabeth along with her sister Glasgow to the Pacific ocean to help the US navy. The other 3 ships in the class were sent ether to the Mediation sea, or to help free India and put pressure on China’s allies in Africa. The only ship in the Belfast class was sunk the H.M.S. Birmingham off the coast India but out of her crew of 320 sailors only 46 lost their lives. The Sheffield was made part of the ships to escort the battleship H.M.S. Hood. During the war the Belfast class proved that British resolve, and her warrior sprite was as hard as ever. At Battle of Seward Alaska in 2017 the H.M.S. Manchester was hit by 2 YJ-62 anti-ship missiles, one near her bridge, and the other hitting her X turret taking it out. The Manchester’s CO give his XO command before dyeing, her new Captain odored her crew to get the fires out and radio the other ships tp watch out for land based anti-ship missiles, and stayed in the fight returning home to a hero’s welcome. After the war India’s navy had their own version of the Belfast class made Amritsar class cruiser.
